Get to Know Us: Attorney Sadie Dupont
Where do you live?
Appleton
Where are you from?
Green Bay! I went to Notre Dame Academy for high school, c/o 2014.
My legal practice…
When I finish law school I’ll be working in McCarty’s business and corporate law practice area. However, I learn more about new areas of the law every day and am excited to continue!
My family….
I chose to move back to the Fox Valley after law school because it meant I would be near my family. At home, it’s just me and my cat, Sophie, but I try to spend as much time with my immediate family as I can. I’m the middle child between two sisters, and my older sister has four kids — three girls and a boy. My dad lives on the Cloverleaf Lakes in Clintonville — I get to enjoy activities like boating, fishing, and swimming during warmer months, ice fishing and snowmobiling during colder months, and drinking cold beer all year round. My mom, on the other hand, lives right here in Appleton, so I love being able to eat home-cooked meals and visit (i.e., raid her pantry, demand her attention, and just generally be a nuisance) whenever I like. This answer is getting lengthy, but I must mention my four family dogs — Bailey, Jet, Franklin, and Thor – technically owned by my parents, but “mine” in every other sense of the word.
What are three things you do every day?
Cuddle with my pet(s), scroll on Tik Tok, and play the daily Wordle game.
What is your favorite activity when you are not at work?
It’s impossible for me to give just one answer to this question. Depending on the time of the year, I love to be outdoors whenever possible and I enjoy things like deer hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and swimming. However, I also am a bit of a nerd, so when the weather is bad (or I’m feeling lazy), you can usually find me reading, playing video games, or talking about how much I love the Lord of the Rings.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek. My parents took me and my sisters camping there several times each summer when we were kids, and now I still try to maintain the tradition at least once a year. Truly the best campground in the state, albeit a bit touristy these days.
What is the last book you read?
This should probably be embarrassing, but I am currently reading “House of Sky and Breath” by Sarah J. Maas. Clearly, I’m a sucker for fantasy romance, but I also enjoy a good Agatha Christie-type murder mystery, something sci-fi like 1984, or a dystopian fiction like The Handmaid’s Tale.
My favorite part of working at McCarty Law is…
So far, the people! I haven’t been here long, but everyone has done such a great job at making me feel welcome. Graduating law school is already scary as it is, so I’m very fortunate that I don’t have to worry about getting along with my new co-workers.
