Where do you live?

Appleton

Where are you from? 

I was born in El Paso, Texas. I grew up in Mexico with my grandparents until I was 10 years old and then moved to the Fox Valley.  

My legal practice…

I represent clients throughout a variety of family law issues such as divorce, legal separation, custody and placement, paternity and post-divorce issues.

My family…. 

I live in Appleton with my husband Bill and our children, Charlie, Owen, and Ellie, and our golden doodle, Raji.  Bill and I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for both undergraduate and graduate school.   I obtained my law degree and Bill a degree in physical therapy.   

What part of your job is your favorite?

Practicing family law gives me the opportunity to help people at a time where they really need it.  I like to think that I play a role in helping my clients not only get through their divorce or other family disputes with dignity, but I also strive to empower them as they start a new chapter in their lives. I also like that family law offers a great deal of diversity of issues and people.  

What are three things you do every day?

Drink coffee, make my bed, and hug my kids.

What is your favorite activity when you are not at work?

I love cooking for my friends and sitting outside on our patio listening to music by the fire while the kids run around playing games.  I also love finding a book and a glass of wine that I can’t put down.  

What is your least favorite activity when you are not at work?

Grocery shopping! 

Where is your favorite place in the world?

My grandma’s house in Mexico, although spending summers on Lake Noquebay is not too bad either!

What is the last book you read?

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. 

My favorite part of working at McCarty Law is…

The people!  Although the coffee and soda selection is a close second! I am excited to be a part of a group of people who show a genuine passion for assisting their clients, colleagues, and their community.
