Where do you live?
Appleton

Where are you from?
I grew up in Gresham, WI, but I lived in Minneapolis since 2011.

My legal practice…focuses on commercial litigation, particularly disputes involving contract law, employment law, construction law, product liability, real estate, personal injury; in addition to various other related claims.

My family…is my motivation. I am married to my best friend (Derek), and together we have a very determined and goofy one-year-old daughter (Colette … aka “Coco”) and the sweetest seven-year-old rescue mutt (Jake).

What is your favorite activity when you are not at work?
Exercising is how I destress. Being a working mom to a toddler does not give me much alone time, so I love it when I make time to get in a tough workout.

What is one thing that you listen to, read, or watch that everyone should?
I am a news junkie, so I love listening to WPR and NPR in the car, listening to podcasts while I am at work, and watching as much of the Sunday morning news shows that I can make time for. Regardless of where you stand on any given issue, I am very much in favor of making informed decisions!

Where is your favorite place in the world?
Anywhere my family is…especially if that place is somewhere warm, and has good food and cold drinks.

If you could trade jobs with one person for one day, who would it be?
Oprah! You get a car, and you get a car, EVERYBODY GETS A CAR!

My favorite part of working at McCarty Law is…the environment! I recently relocated to Appleton from Minnesota, so I was a little nervous about that the fact that I was going to be working with new clients, in a new jurisdiction, and among a new set of attorney peers. However, from day one the staff and attorneys at McCarty made me feel so welcome. There is an emphasis on collaboration at McCarty, which gives our clients such a unique and valuable benefit.
