I Really Like This Chocolate!
Chocolate has long been associated with romance, particularly Valentine’s Day. Chocolate contains compounds such as phenylethylamine, which increases dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin to boost mood, focus, and energy, and also serotonin, which promotes feelings of happiness and wellbeing.
The Aztecs and Mayans revered cacao as a sacred, luxurious, and invigorating substance often used in marriage ceremonies. Chocolate has historically been viewed as an aphrodisiac, reinforcing its connection to love and passion.
In the 1860s, chocolatier Richard Cadbury introduced the first heart-shaped box, leading the way for chocolate to be a romantic and “sweet” way to express love. Russell Stover followed suit in the U.S. with their heart-shaped chocolate boxes. Hershey’s got onboard by releasing Hershey’s Kisses in 1907.
That’s why it’s no surprise that USALESS.COM chose chocolate as the vessel for delivering its male enhancement supplement.
Happy Trails Medicinals is a Wisconsin-based, specialty wellness retailer founded in 2018 that focuses on legal, plant-based remedies as an alternative to traditional medicine. Happy Trails sells USALESS.COM’s Rhino VIP Chocolate 10X, which is marketed as a sexual chocolate sauce for men.
Happy Trail’s website describes it as a rich, indulgent chocolate sauce formulated to heat things up naturally. “Infused with powerful herbal aphrodisiacs like Pau de Cabinda, Tongkat Ali, and Panax Ginseng, this dessert isn’t just for your sweet tooth – it’s for your libido,” it says. Rhino VIP is purportedly powered by traditional plant aphrodisiacs to support male stamina, libido, and energy, making it “your new bedroom wingman.”
Before you clear yourself for takeoff, however, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that the Brooklyn-based USALESS.COM is recalling its sexual chocolate due to the undeclared presence of Tadalafil, which is the active ingredient in Cialis. The drug, which is not declared on the ingredients label, is not allowed in over-the-counter products.
Rhino VIP Chocolate 10X is sold in a black cardboard box, is 10 grams and contains 12 pieces of the chocolate supplement. The packages being recalled have an expiration date of October 2027 and UPC number 724087947668. It is sold both online and in retail stores.
On its website, the company warned that it is recalling the chocolate because Tadalafil may interact with nitrates in some prescription drugs and has the potential to “lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.” Nitrates are often taken by people with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease.
Happy Trail’s website does state that Rhino VIP Chocolate 10X is not intended for those with high blood pressure or heart conditions. The company advises consumers to consult their doctor if you are taking medication or have underlying health conditions.
This is not USALESS.COM’s first run-in with the FDA. In 2018, the agency warned against using or purchasing Rhino male enhancement products, saying that since 2007, it had identified more than 25 Rhino products that had hidden drug ingredients. “The FDA has received reports of people experiencing chest pain, severe headaches and prolonged erections after taking a Rhino product that led to surgical intervention and hospitalization due to extreme drops in blood pressure,” it announced.
“The product has been immediately removed from our online store until we are certain that the problem has been corrected,” USALESS.COM said. Consumers who have already purchased the recalled chocolate are being asked to immediately return it for a full refund. So, if you already bought some of the products, at least you won’t get stiffed.
