Vintage (and Inspired) in the Valley

The Boys and Girls Club of the Fox Valley has been instrumental in creating not just more, but better opportunities for our children in our community. As their mission states, they strive to “inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.” On March 9, 2019, we were the ones who were inspired, thanks to the young citizens in our community.

We attended the Vintage in the Valley event, an annual fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club held at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center. While we were eager to support the event, we also enjoyed a champagne reception, silent auction, four-course dinner, and wine tasting. But what truly showcased the best our community has to offer came at the end of the night, when we had the privilege to listen to several young people speak about their experiences with the club.

While their stories varied, the common denominator through all of them was how the opportunity and the safe environment they found in the club altered the course of their lives for the better. Everyone at our table was inspired by how recognition, trust, and support can lift a child’s self-esteem and sense of belonging.

We were honored to support this event, and we look forward to witnessing the impact these young people will have on our community in the future. If you would like to learn more about the Boys and Girls Club and how you can help, please visit their website here.
